As you can see the pattern clearly illustrates the oncoming of the Art Deco era
along with those cute little Nouveau florals in the lower corners. The
horseshoe shaped background color is a very bright off white, or maybe even an
soft egg shell white. The colors are patterned with a deep pink coral, a bluish
mint green, all outlined in crisp jet black. The mesh is perfectly attached at
all points with no gaPSunder the hinges, all is as it should be. The bottom
skirt is finished with a complete eight point Van Dyke fringe, very nice.
The silver toned frame is pure Art Nouveau is every respect, further evidence of
an early 1900's purse. The frame is gorgeous, no dents or damages, it is clean,
clasp is snug and hinges are secure. The unlined interior is bright with no
tarnish showing. This mesh purse is more generous in size than many, measuring 7
& 1/4 in length by 5 across the frame and the chain handle droPS5 inches.
Structurally, this mesh bag is perfect but there is some enamel loss to mention.
One side is nearly perfect with only minimal loss mostly at the hinge areas
where there is common rubbing. On the other side, there is noticeable paint
wear, hear and there about the purse, with the more obvious loss in the egg
shell background color and a little at the fringe area, all showing well in the
last photo. So, if you can handle a little enamel loss on one side, you will
receive a wonderful antique mesh purse in otherwise, excellent condition.
