The size of the mesh links is very fine and commonly referred to as Baby mesh.
All of the mesh is in excellent shape, well attached at all points as it should
be. The purse has a rich golden tone frame, signed on the interior and an
extra sturdy chain handle. The shape and design of the frame pulls
together both the Art Nouveau and Deco eras with raised curly detailing recessed
within the lines of the frame. The bottom of the purse is finishes in a
wonderful pointed fringe, like the Van Dyke style. Everything about the
mesh looks great, I couldn't be happier with the condition.
 
The interior maintains it's original silk lining, gathered pocket and beveled
mirror, although the lining does appear to be thinning a bit and someone took a
few stitches down further inside the lining, trying to keep it in service.
The lining is secure, reasonably clean and well attached, it's nice to still
have it in place. This Whiting & Davis baby mesh Dresden bag measures 7 in
length by 4¼ wide and the handle drops over 5
inches. This is a stunning example of a Dresden mesh purse, Whiting &
Davis really knew how to decorate these beautifully. It will make a super
addition to your collection or wardrobe accessories.
