The colors are a fun combination of rustic pumpkin orange and jet black on a
soft white background. The tones are showing very well in the photos but the
frame is actually brighter and cleaner than shown.
The beautifully sculpted frame is a handsome crown for this butterfly mesh
handbag.
It is quite intricately embossed with those gorgeous Art Nouveau florals and
leaves.
In addition, the central shield, on both sides, is free of any initial. I
am showing you lots of photos so you may judge this purse accurately, however, the mesh
is not showing it's lovely sheen in the pics but my photos are exact enough to
express it's true nature and fabulous condition.
 
As you can see, the pattern is totally influenced by the Art Nouveau era and has
a hint of Art Deco as well.
The interior of the frame is properly marked with the Mandalian Mfg. Co. stamp
and the interior mesh is very bright and clean. All of the mesh is secure at all
points, all links are attached to each other including under the hinges, all
components of this purse are sound and working as they should. I find no flaws
with this purse, no wear, gaPSor other problems, no apologies.
The deep V-shaped skirt of this purse is fully fringes, appearing complete.
The only thing keeping this mesh bag from being pristine is a little discolor to
a few of the tiny links in the fringe, certainly not offensive in the least,
mostly the fringe is quite bright. This
lovely antique mesh purse measures 6 & 1/2 in length,
3 & 3/4 across the frame, 2 & 3/4 across the hinges and the clean silver
chain handle droPSthe purse by 6 & 1/2 inches. Overall, it is a splendid example of
a Mandalian enameled mesh purse, from the 1920's era and how often do you find
butterflies on them. It's
exemplifies the Art Nouveau era in fashion and style and will be a welcomed
addition to your treasured keepsakes.
