The beadwork is hand knit in the swag design of single graduating columns.
Every stitch is in place, no snags, stains or weaknesses. The silver toned
frame is quite lovely with wonderful embossed flowers and the clasp shows all
the elegant characteristics of a Victorian purse. My photos are showing
the tones very well, except the close-up is washing out the pale green
background threading.
I had to re-line the interior as the original lining was gone, so I chose a
forest green but it is not as dark as what is showing, it compliments the purse
perfectly. It is all hand stitched and I trimmed the edge with my best
embroidered lace. This purse and frame has been cleaned, it carries only a
scent of freshness. Measurements are: a wee 5 & 1/4 in length by 5 across
the frame, the bottom flares out to 6 & 1/4 inches and the chain handle droPS
about 4 inches. Overall, I would say that this vintage beaded knit swag
purse is in excellent condition, no flaws, a great gift or accessory.
