The background bead is a tiny micro ivory bead that covers the purse but the
intense sparkle comes from the cut and faceted pastel glass beads which comprise
the floral and leave arrangement and boy, do they shimmer, I just wish you could
see it. These pastel beads are also raised up, giving dimension to the
pattern, it is quite spectacular. This purse is well constructed and has a
medium hand, not too soft and not too stiff. It has been professionally
cleaned for you, it has no odors, it is ready for your enjoyment. This charming
evening bag will receive many compliments as it has a unique personality, as do
all of these Josef bags. The workmanship shows all of the expertise of the
French artisans and the condition is what you would hope it to be. Both sides of
this purse are decorated in the same exact fashion and my photos are
representing the purse well.
 
The colors are perfect, without fading, and include several shades of blue,
pink, lavender, yellow, green and peach, all soft and subtle, yet strong enough
and crisp. All of my photos show these characteristics very well and the colors
are very eye-catching. The gold tone frame has somewhat of a brushed appearance
and is in nice bright condition showing minimal aging, really nothing offensive,
it is very nice. The clasp is a treat with beautiful citrine cabochons set into
the closure. The frame opens and closes as it should with a solid snap. The
condition of the beading is exceptional, out of the thousands of beads, maybe
there is one or two missing, I certainly don't notice any losses.
The interior satin lining is a light tan beige color, it has dual pockets and
it's designer label. The lining does show very small signs of age and usage but
it is very presentable with no wears or tears, nor any obvious stains. The purse
is well attached to the frame at all points and suffers no structural or design
flaws. This 1930 - 1940 French Josef beaded
evening purse, stuffed
with tissue, measures 5 inches in height by 8½ inches wide, the side
gusset is 1½
inches and the fully beaded handle, with matching
beads, drops the purse by 5 inches. This evening handbag is a bit of a small
size but will be able to carry all you need for a successful night out. The
condition is extra fine, no damages, negatives or apologies. Please consider
