The gold tone frame and clasp are in secure working order and the chain handle
drops the purse by 4 & 1/2 inches. The top of the frame and lift to open clasp
has been detailed with a heavy braid of pink, blue, black and clear glass beads
showing a little gold tone. The beading on the clasp is circled with a braid of
golden brassy metal work.
The original black satin lining with pocket is in very fine, cleaned condition.
I keep searching for the French mark but fine none. This classic beauty is
undoubtedly hand made in France, I have no hesitation stating that with the
utmost of certainty. The backside of this purse displays more of the same
charming details and colors. Stuffed with tissue, this handbag measures 5 in
height by 9 inches across the widest and has about an inch and a half of depth.
This classic treasure will carry well to any black tie event or that special
evening out. The condition is very fine, I find no flaws to mention, you will
enjoy the glamour of this 1940 vintage purse.
