You will be delighted to own and carry this vintage 1930 Evans compact purse. This vanity bag comes with a gold tone mesh body that is attributed to the Whiting & Davis Company, they were well known for supplying the Evans Co., with their mesh needs. |

The top of the compact has been hand stitched in a lovely stylized petit point design and further enhanced with applied faux pearls. The color tones of the petit point show well, they are pastel shades of blue, pale yellow, peach and lavender, as shown. The abstract florals are finished with a faux pearl to highlight the centers, how sweet. All the hand work is in very fine condition, no soil or missed stitches, it looks good. The mesh is bright and clean, all attached and connected as it should be.
The top opens to reveal the original lining and all the interior components. The original rouge is in place with the traditional and recognized Evans back stamp. All hinges and covers are in sound working order, the metal mirrors are reflective and the lining is perfect. My photos show some of the wonderful detail on the outer brass framing, much nicer than many found. This compact vanity bag measures 5 & 1/2 inches in length when closed, the sturdy mesh strap hangs 4 & 1/2 inches and the diameter of the compact is 2 & 1/2 inches. The overall condition is marvelous, certainly well cared for and properly preserved. I know you will be happy to add this compact purse to your vanity and wardrobe accessories.
