Vintage 1940's Austrian petit point vanity purse case

From the approx. 1940 era comes this stunning Austrian micro petit point cigarette case, which is commonly used as a card case and will accommodate your business card, credit or debit card, license and paper money. This case was hand made in Austria and is signed so. I acquired this piece from a fine New York collection of petit point that was purchased in Austria between the 1930 and 1950's era. This case was hand stitched from some of the finest silk threads and the workmanship is as refined and thorough as we have come to expect from the Austrian embroiderers and their workmanship.

The stitches are delightful with 40 to the inch or 1600 to the square inch, making this a true micro petit point treasure. The black background threads really pop the colorful array of florals, which include robust and radiant roses, blue and lavender florals, and a strong showing of greenery and earth tones. My photos are very good and show you exactly what you can expect to receive, at least on my screen it displays properly. The entire presentation is very vibrant and exquisite, I do believe you will love it. This vanity purse, cigarette case, is in perfect, unused condition, clean and flawless, perfectly preserved through many decades of time.

The interior silver toned metal is signed Austria. The backside is covered in a jet black fabric that feels like a fine cotton with a bit of a felt-like touch. The push in to open latch is in proper working order and snaps closed securely. The interior is lined with a black ribbed faille material and there is adequate depth to this case for holding your necessities. The interior left side is plain but if you want to add a photo of your beloved, there is ample space to do so. The interior continues to hold it's original stuffing inside the compartment, as to keep it's proper shape and form. Overall, everything is in perfect, unused, undamaged condition. It measures 4 inches from side to side by 3 inches from top to bottom and has a 1/4 inch of depth. Thank you for considering one of the prettiest vintage 1940's Austrian petit point cigarette card cases that I can currently offer, it's delightful.
